The Blue Book of Building and Construction Integrates Bluebeam PDF Revu for Digital Takeoff and Markup Directly in BB-Bid Private Online Plan Room!

Westchester, N.Y.The Blue Book has incorporated industry-leading software from Bluebeam® into its BB-Bid Private Online Plan Room to facilitate the bidding process for commercial construction projects. Bluebeam specializes in PDF solutions for the construction, architectural and engineering industries and makes it simple to edit and markup PDF documents. Integrated into BB-Bid, Bluebeam “PDF Revu” will enable BB-Bid users to view, compare, takeoff and markup PDF documents in any BB-Bid Online Plan Room.

This new functionality will result in easier and more accurate bidding for everyone who uses the BB-Bid Private Online Plan Room.  To further facilitate bidding communication during this stage, markups and takeoffs can be saved to any document and sent with any RFI (Request for Information).

“The Blue Book is committed to continuously enhancing our services to facilitate communication within the construction community.  I am very excited about this integration and am confident that it will be a valuable tool for all BB-Bid users – both the general contractors who post the plans and the subcontractors who bid from them,“ explained Rich Johnson, General Manager of The Blue Book.

All BB-Bid users will be able to view documents easily in PDF and create their markups and takeoffs electronically. The Blue Book is enabling additional functionality for their customers and general contractors that permits them to save these electronic takeoffs and markups within BB-Bid and access them remotely from anywhere.

As a further added-value, Bluebeam is offering a discount of over 50%, exclusively to Blue Book Customers and General Contractors on purchases of the full version of “PDF Revu”, which includes additional features and functionality for use outside of BB-Bid.

“We are pleased to work with The Blue Book to bring useful and effective PDF technology to its community of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers and further promote the value of an electronic workflow that is standardized in PDF,” said Richard Lee, President and CEO of Bluebeam Software, Inc.
